MR-guided breast biopsy results need careful correlation with histology for on-time diagnosis

Concordance between imaging results and histology results after biopsy is essential to avoid a breast cancer diagnosis delay. Investigators from Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City looked at the rate of imaging-histologic discordance on MRI-guided biopsy, and found that while mismatches frequently were significant, they can be reduced through careful planning.
