Merit settles dispute with Bard

Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems has settled a dispute with Bard Access Systems over the distribution of its SecureLoc safety introducer needle.

Under the terms of the deal, Bard Access Systems has granted Merit a nonexclusive worldwide license to manufacture and distribute the device under its own trademark, and it has agreed not to sue Merit for the term of all patents covering it. Both parties have also agreed to dismiss all claims in the litigation pending in a U.S. court in Utah.

Merit received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for SecureLoc in June.
