Agfa to show CR, DR upgrades at AAOS

Agfa HealthCare will present several new technology upgrades at this week's American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting in San Francisco.

The vendor plans to direct attention to a second-generation version of its DX-G digital radiography (DR) system, which will feature updated software and a design aimed at lowering service and maintenance requirements, Agfa said. A second-generation version of Agfa's CR 30-X computed radiography (CR) system offers a lighter, sleeker form and service tools for improved remote access and easier serviceability, according to the vendor.

The company will also feature its new mobile Full Leg Full Spine (FLFS) cassette holder, which allows standing and prone/supine full-leg, full-spine imaging in a single exposure, Agfa said. The Reina Transformer is mobile and available in two- or three-cassette versions. The vendor said it would launch new FLFS cassette holder options and DR FLFS with automatic stitching capability in 2012.

In addition, Agfa's NX Workstation software has been updated with digital workflow improvements and dose management tools. The company will also spotlight its DX-D 100 offering with a wireless detector, which was first introduced at the RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.
