Kodak's health sales, earnings dip

Declines in its traditional radiography and digital output businesses contributed to a decline in fourth-quarter sales and earnings for Eastman Kodak Health Group.

The Rochester, NY-based firm had sales of $660 million, down 6% compared with the fourth quarter of 2006. Kodak had operating earnings of $86 million during the period (end-December 31), compared with $87 million last year.

Sales increases in healthcare information systems, digital dental products, and digital capture offerings were offset by the declines in its traditional radiography and digital output businesses.

The health division's pending acquisition by Canadian investment firm Onex is expected to close in the first half of 2007.
