Philips Healthcare has launched Azurion Lung Edition, a 3D imaging and navigation solution for lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The software combines tableside conebeam CT (CBCT) images with real-time x-ray guidance to help clinicians perform image-guided lung procedures. Philips designed the solution for bronchoscopy procedures, including the ability to perform minimally invasive endobronchial biopsies and lesion ablation during the same procedure.
Azurion Lung Edition works on the Azurion platform and is available for use in the U.S. The Azurion platform has been adopted worldwide and used in more than 2 million procedures, according to Philips.
Philips also announced that interventional radiologist Dr. Atul Gupta, chief medical officer of Philips Image Guided Therapy, will host a virtual roundtable on the use of CBCT for endobronchial ablation therapy on September 23 at 1 p.m. EDT. The roundtable will feature both pulmonologists and interventional radiologists.
