The U.S. National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published a free five-page guide to cleaning electrical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
NEMA GD 4-2020 explains how to clean electrical equipment without affecting its functionality and integrity. The association recommends following manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and disinfecting electrical equipment and components.
Also, NEMA cautions against the use of fogging and spraying disinfectant solutions on and around electrical equipment. Using those products can create invasive electrical hazards.
