The University of Tennessee Health Science Center's mobile CT stroke unit has received Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) CT accreditation, the first in the world to do so, the IAC said.
The Memphis facility in May received a three-year accreditation in the areas of neurological CT/acute stroke and vascular CT angiography. Its mobile stroke unit was established in 2016 and responds to 911 calls for patients with stroke symptoms up to five times per day, on average, according to the commission.
