Siemens Healthineers has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Somatom Edge Plus premium single-source CT scanner.
Edge Plus has tin filters, a Straton MX Sigma tube with a high mA range, Stellar Infinity detectors, and twin-beam dual-energy scanning. The device also includes Siemens' Fully Assisting Scanner Technologies (FAST) 3D camera, which uses artificial intelligence to facilitate patient positioning, as well as its FAST integrated workflow.
