Bayer HealthCare has announced a deal to buy Radimetrics, a privately held Toronto-based developer of radiation dose measurement software.
Radimetrics has developed eXposure, which measures patient radiation exposure over multiple imaging procedures. The software also includes quality assurance and practice improvement tools, and has the ability to manage scanner protocols.
Bayer officials said the deal is part of the company's effort to become an "end-to-end" provider of products and services for radiology customers. Radimetrics employees in Toronto and Scotland will become employees of the Bayer group in the company's Radiology & Interventional division.
