Planmed of Roselle, IL, will unveil its newly named work-in-progress FFDM unit Nuance, which includes the company’s MaxView breast positioning system.
In addition to Nuance, Planmed will highlight DigiGuide, a digital imaging system for diagnostic mammography, needle localization, and stereotactic biopsy procedures that can be used with the company’s film-screen device, Sophie Classic. Cleared by the FDA in February, DigiGuide consists of a compact, moveable digital cassette with geometric magnification capability and 24 micron pixels.
Planmed will also show Flex-AEC, a technical upgrade for film-screen image quality. With 48 individual solid-state detectors, Flex-AEC compensates for tissue density and radiation spectrum variations, eliminates photocell placement guesswork, reduces retakes, and improves productivity, according to Planmed.
