No one wants to expose a child to radiation needlessly -- certainly not for cases in which ultrasound and MRI can provide a reliable diagnosis without the radiation risks that are substantially higher in younger patients. But for applications in which high resolution or speed are paramount, some radiologists are finding MDCT to be the best alternative.
