Galil launches prostate cancer cryoablation study

Galil Medical USA announced that the Laboratory of Urologic Oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles, has begun a five-year, multicenter study to determine the long-term efficacy of Galil’s SeedNet system for the cryoablation of prostate cancer. In an approach similar to brachytherapy, SeedNet implants IceSeeds using temperatures as low as minus 180° Celsius, according to the Woburn, MA-based firm.
