CHICAGO - Data from a small series of patients suggest that percutaneous ultrasound-guided placement of a partial-breast irradiation (PBI) balloon is a safe and efficient option to whole-breast radiation following lumpectomy for treatment of early-stage breast cancer, according to researchers who presented their findings Wednesday at the 2006 RSNA meeting.
