Kodak's healthcare earnings fall on higher sales

Eastman Kodak's Health Imaging division reported higher sales for its second quarter, but the business unit's profit fell due to falling prices, lower productivity, and adverse foreign exchange rates, according to the Rochester, NY, company.

For the quarter, Kodak Health Imaging reported sales of $586 million, up 6% compared with the $553 million recorded in same period a year ago and up 10% when adjusted for currency impact. The division's operating earnings fell to $99 million, compared with $129 million in the second quarter of 2000.
