Image Diagnostics to develop new radiation shield

Specialty equipment manufacturer Image Diagnostics has inked a product development agreement with radiation protection device firm ECLS to design a new shield for interventional radiologists.

ECLS was founded by Dr. James Goldstein of Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. The shield will protect interventionalists from radiation during fluoroscopic catheterization procedures, Image Diagnostics said.

Image Diagnostics plans to debut the shield at the upcoming RSNA 2018 meeting in Chicago.
