Analogic posts Q1 revenue increases

Medical imaging firm Analogic posted higher revenues for its first-quarter financial results.

For the first quarter (end-October 31), the Peabody, MA-based company's revenues increased by 25% compared to the same period in 2006, from $75.6 million to $94.2 million.

Sales in Analogic's medical technology products division were $77.5 million, up 14% compared to the same period the previous year. Sales of medical imaging products grew to $52.1 million in the first quarter of 2007, a 15% increase compared to 2006. The company attributed the growth to sales of CT subsystems, including its multislice data acquisition systems and new data management systems, and sales of its MR power systems.

Medical CT system revenues were down from a strong quarter a year earlier, and digital radiography product revenues were up, at $4.9 million. Analogic's B-K Medical ultrasound subsidiary posted revenues of $20.5 million, up 5% over the prior year.
