Bayer HealthCare secures 3-year MRI contract

Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals of Wayne, NJ, has been awarded a three-year contract renewal by Health Trust Purchasing Group to make its Magnevist MRI contrast agent available to Health Trust's network, the company reported.

Berlex has provided Brentwood, TN-based Health Trust with MRI contrast media for the past seven years; now Berlex is part of Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, as the result of Bayer's acquisition of Berlex's affiliate, Schering of Germany. Health Trust supports more than 1,300 acute care hospitals, 430 ambulatory surgery centers, 2,500 physician practices, and more than 3,000 alternative care sites, according to Bayer.
