Quantum receives FDA OK, Premier pact

Radiology equipment vendor Quantum Medical Imaging of Ronkonkoma, NY, has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its DiRex digital x-ray system.

DiRex combines Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa HealthCare's DX-S computed radiography system with Quantum's radiography technology into one unit. It is available in three configurations: a ceiling-mounted tube system, floor-mounted tube system, and QV-800 Universal system.

In other news, Quantum also received a three-year contract from group purchasing organization Premier for its Quantum Q-Rad radiographic systems.
