Siemens enhances Axiom Artis

Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions has added new remote-control technologies to its Axiom Artis angiography system.

The Malvern, PA, vendor has added a wireless foot switch and voice-control technology to the system. The enhancements are designed to eliminate cables in the cath lab and enable hands-free control of the angiography system, according to the company.

Both new technologies are pending Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance, according to Siemens.
