Siemens signs deal with Volcano

Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has inked a nonexclusive global resale agreement to resell intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) developer Volcano's s5i IVUS/fractional flow reserve (FFR) systems and accessories.

Siemens will market the San Diego-based company's technology with Siemens' Artis line of x-ray systems.

The Volcano s5i IVUS and FFR systems are compatible with Artis x-ray products. Volcano's s5i is a component-based system that is incorporated into the cath lab.
