Carestream inks Mo. contract

Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, has won a contract with a Missouri medical center to install 13 of its digital radiography (DR) systems, the company said.

Heartland Regional Medical Center of St. Joseph is converting its general radiology exam rooms and its existing mobile x-ray imaging systems from computed radiography (CR) to DR. The center has purchased six Carestream DRX-1 systems, five DRX-Mobile retrofit kits, and two DRX-Evolution systems.

The DRX-1 detectors will be used in Heartland Regional's mobile x-ray systems that serve emergency and operating room suites and the main radiology department, as well as in general radiology rooms and a new fluoroscopy room, according to Carestream. The center plans to install one of the DRX-Evolution systems in its 45-room emergency department and the other in its outpatient center.
