GE hits healthymagination goals

General Electric, parent company of GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., reported that it has invested $700 million in research and development since launching its healthymagination campaign.

The Fairfield, CT-based company also has funneled $250 million into an equity fund focused on growing healthcare technology companies since May 2009. GE Healthcare has also grown its healthymagination portfolio to 24 products, adding the portable handheld Vscan ultrasound device and Brivo CT scanner.

The company's goal is to have 100 new technology innovations in the healthymagination program by 2015.
