Konica Minolta launches DR system, laser imager

Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA of Wayne, NJ, is showcasing its new upright flat-panel DR system and new laser imager, as well as its Regius Digital Imaging Suite and ImagePilot CR system, at RSNA 2008 in Chicago.

The FDA-cleared FlexDR upright flat-panel DR system features an amorphous silicon and cesium iodide receptor, and will be available for sale in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2009. A TechLink review console permits technologists to review images within approximately five seconds after exposure, according to the company.

Intended for use with mammography images, the DryPro 873 laser imager is capable of processing 180 mixed film sizes per hour, according to Konica Minolta. Its intensity conversion processing feature is designed to optimize processing both for image quality and rapid throughput.

Konica Minolta also is featuring the Regius Digital Imaging Suite, designed to be a cost-effective, easy-to-use complete DR solution as it combines a cassetteless upright receptor with a cassette-based system.

In addition, Konica Minolta is highlighting the ImagePilot CR system with AutoPilot Image Processing that uses a universal algorithm that keys on bone tissue to automate the image acquisition process.
