GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., continues to restructure its business this week with the sale of its CodeLink activated slide microarray division to SurModics of Eden Prairie, MN.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
SurModics provides surface modification and drug delivery technologies to the healthcare industry. CodeLink activated slides use SurModics' PhotoLink technology to create a 3D matrix that attaches biomolecules, including DNA, RNA, and proteins, to form microarrays.
The divesture follows two GE acquisitions earlier this week. The company purchased IT firm Agility Healthcare Solutions of Glen Allen, VA, and protein science and drug discovery research company MicroCal of Northampton, MA, on September 30.
