Medipattern's revenue dips in Q2

A lack of licensing fees contributed to reduced revenue for computer-aided detection (CAD) firm Medipattern in the second quarter of fiscal 2009 (end-December 31, 2008).

The Toronto-based company's revenue slipped to $72,000 Canadian ($58,000 U.S.), compared with $158,000 ($127,000 U.S.) in the second quarter of fiscal 2008. The net loss increased to $1.1 million ($851,000 U.S.), compared with a net loss of $907,000 ($726,000 U.S.) in the same quarter a year ago.

During the second quarter of fiscal 2009, Medipattern signed an agreement for the sale of 200 B-CAD systems in China, but none of the revenue from the transaction was recognized in the quarter.
