Agfa HealthCare is launching SmartXR Assistant, a new technology designed to improve the productivity of radiologic technologists and radiographers, at this week's RSNA 2020 virtual meeting.

SmartXR Assistant combines hardware such as integrated sensors and cameras with software powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to give x-ray staff predictive workflow assistance to help them boost their productivity and reduce retakes. The platform comes with tools for radiation dose reduction, alignment of detectors with x-ray tubes, improved patient positioning, and more, according to the company.

SmartXR Assistant is available on Agfa's DR 600 automated digital radiography (DR) room. It is being shown as a work-in-progress at RSNA 2020 on the DR 100s mobile DR system.
