Computer-aided detection (CAD) software developer iCAD has launched ProFound AI Risk, clinical decision-support software that provides breast cancer risk estimates.

Using data from a woman's 2D digital screening mammogram, the software aims to help detect cancers in between rounds of breast screening. Also, the technology uses factors like a woman's age and breast density to estimate her breast cancer risk.

Additionally, iCAD has released an updated version of its PowerLook Density Assessment software, which identifies a patient's anatomy, segments the breast, and then measures adipose and fibroglandular tissue and its dispersion to determine the density category.
