Philips names Rusckowski CEO of medical division

Royal Philips Electronics has named company veteran Stephen Rusckowski as CEO of its Philips Medical Systems division, replacing Jouko Karvinen, who is leaving the Dutch company.

Rusckowski previously led Philips' global Imaging Systems division and has played a lead role in directing the company's strategy in the personal health domain. Rusckowski came to Philips in 2001, when the company bought the healthcare business of Agilent Technologies, where he served as general manager.

As CEO of Philips Medical Systems, Rusckowski will report to Gerard Kleisterlee, president and CEO of Royal Philips Electronics.

Karvinen is leaving Philips to become CEO of Finnish paper, packaging, and forest products company Stora Enso.
