The American College of Radiology (ACR) has launched the Fund for Collaborative Research in Imaging Grant, a new fund aimed at fostering innovative radiology research.

Applications are now being accepted for the one-time ACR Center for Research and Innovation grant, which will support pilot projects for testing a new idea or supporting a new area of clinical radiology research. The ACR noted that grants may address a specific hypothesis and produce preliminary data that can be utilized for applications to national peer-reviewed funding agencies.

Applications with a total budget of up to $200,000 will be accepted from individuals or groups. Although more than one proposal may be funded, the total of all awards is limited to $400,000, the ACR said.

All applicants must be ACR members and the project must use ACR staff expertise or systems, as well as outline a plan for future science and funding growth, according to the ACR. More information can be found on the ACR's website. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Eastern time on January 15, 2021.
