Eon uses AI to find incidental lung nodules on reports

October 28, 2020 -- Patient management technology firm Eon said that its Essential Management Platform (EMP) can now also be used to identify incidental lung nodules on MRI and x-ray reports.

Incorporating the firm's computational linguistics capability, Eon's lung cancer screening and incidental pulmonary nodule management software can identify incidental pulmonary nodules on CT reports at a 98.9% accuracy and on MRI and on x-ray reports at 97% accuracy.

The company claims that the platform yields higher accuracy than other forms of artificial intelligence (AI) such as natural language processing and computer-aided detection. EMP had previously been able to spot incidental pulmonary nodules only on CT reports.
