RSNA publishes 1st issue of new AI publication

January 30, 2019 -- The RSNA on January 30 published the first issue of its new Radiology: Artificial Intelligence online journal.

The publication will feature emerging applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) in imaging across multiple disciplines. It is published bimonthly and available exclusively online.

Articles in the first edition include the following:

  • "Artificial Intelligence, Real Radiology" by Dr. Charles Kahn Jr.
  • "Augmented Radiology: Looking Over the Horizon" by Dr. Christie Lincoln et al
  • "Augmenting the NIH Chest Radiograph Dataset With Expert Annotations of Possible Pneumonia" by Dr. George Shih et al
  • "Challenges Related to Artificial Intelligence Research in Medical Imaging and the Importance of Image Analysis Competitions" by Dr. Luciano Prevedello et al

Editors of the journal are accepting high-quality manuscripts that illustrate the use of AI to diagnose and manage patients, extract information, streamline radiology workflow, or improve healthcare outcomes. They are also interested in meaningful reviews and opinion pieces focused on AI education and AI's role in educating radiologists, referring providers, and patients, as well as other important issues in the specialty.
