Multivendor IT integration improves workflow, patient care

AUSTIN, TX - A team from the radiology department of Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee developed an integrated workstation to bring together disparate information systems. The group created a solution for optimizing workflow when integrating multivendor RIS and PACS products, and presented it at this week's Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting.

EMR tool creates feedback on critical findings

To ensure that significant unexpected findings, such as a malignancy, are given the appropriate workup, a group from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the department of radiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor developed and instituted a semiautomated process for notification of critical diagnostic imaging findings.
