Swiss imaging software developer Medimaps Group plans to merge with Danish firm Radiobotics, combining both AI-driven musculoskeletal imaging software companies into a single global provider.

The new company will offer AI-enabled imaging software for x-ray and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) indications, such as automated fracture detection, opportunistic bone fragility assessment, and fracture risk prediction. Medimaps Group's bone microarchitecture offerings -- TBS Osteo and TBS Reveal -- will be integrated into Radiobotics' RBfracture, that firm's main software for detecting trauma-related findings such as fractures, dislocations, and effusions, the two companies said.

The merged organization will serve hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers across 90 countries. Both firms will maintain their existing brands. The deal is pending Danish foreign direct investment approval and other closing conditions, and financial terms were not disclosed.
