
Scottsdale, AZ-based SimonMed Imaging has implemented AI developer iCAD's latest breast cancer detection software.
The outpatient imaging services provider has installed ProFound AI Version 3.0 at 170 of the company's sites across 11 states. The latest version was developed using over 5 million images from 30,000 cases, including almost 8,000 biopsy-proven cancers, and validated on approximately 1 million images from 3,500 cases that included 1,200 biopsy-proven cancers, SimonMed noted.
The software further increases sensitivity in detecting early breast cancer on 3D mammograms, company officials added.
