
Lung imaging software developer Vida Diagnostics will demonstrate a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered portal for managing respiratory clinical trials at the RSNA 2021 annual meeting.
The cloud-based VIDA Intelligence Portal (VIP) was designed to help streamline processes involved in clinical trials, such as site onboarding, staff training, and managing image data and quality.
The company said that 80% of trials face delays and 11% of trial sites never enroll a single patient. Respiratory trials are even more difficult due to the complexities involved in proper image acquisition, breathing training of research subjects, image reconstruction, motion artifacts, and secure data exchange, the company said.
The VIDA portal is highly secure and can serve as a centralized information hub, as well as help trial sponsors and sites identify future trial participants or provide access to aggregated data intelligence for future drug studies, Vida said.
