Artificial intelligence (AI) company HealthTensor has raised $5 million in seed funding to help meet the growing demand for its software that augments medical decision-making.

The funding round was led by Calibrate Ventures, TenOneTen Ventures, and Susa Ventures and included funding from hospitals, physicians, and a medical officer at Amazon Health. HealthTensor will use the funds to scale its software engineering and implementation team in order to keep up with demand from health systems.

The HealthTensor software uses algorithms to aid physicians in making the use of raw patient medical data. It can help with AI-enabled diagnosis and is designed with the physician workflow in mind, the company noted.
