ASRT membership tops 100,000

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) added the name of its 100,000th member to its membership database at the end of October 2002. The ASRT now has the largest membership of any radiologic science organization worldwide and has one of the largest memberships among allied health organizations in the U.S., according to the organization.

The ASRT reached the 100,000-member mark two months earlier than it anticipated. Projections made by the group earlier in the year predicted that the society would enroll its 100,000th member in December 2002 or January 2003. However, membership growth was stronger than anticipated in 2002, with 500 to 600 radiologic technologists joining the association each month throughout the year.
