A multispecialty group from Switzerland used proton MR spectroscopy (MRS) to prospectively evaluate the fat content of paraspinal muscles in patients with chronic low back pain (LBP) and found that MRS offered a certain insight into LBP's muscular components. A second study sought a connection between LBP, MR findings, and a patient's healthcare coverage.
