Radiologists maintain dominance in breast biopsy procedures

Breast biopsy rates grew quite dramatically during the latter part of the 20th century, and radiologists performed the majority of those procedures, according to a new Medicare database analysis. But as has been the case of late, radiologists did have to contend with some competition in this arena.

Superior FFDM image quality seen with wet laser printer

Everybody loves a bargain, even when it comes to printers for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) images. But as with many things in life, the best price doesn't always equal best quality. Austrian researchers performed a head-to-head comparison of FFDM images printed with a wet laser and a paper printer, and found the wet laser far superior.
