The practice of diagnostic medical sonography is well-recognized as being associated with a significant risk for work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs). The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have published a paper on sonography WRMSDs and how they can be prevented.
