Philips is showcasing the latest version of its AI-powered Compact Ultrasound 5500CV portable ultrasound system at the 2025 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Annual Scientific Session and Expo to be held March 29 to 31 in Chicago.
The portable system provides advanced cardiac imaging to newborns, children, the elderly, and less mobile patients. It is compatible with the X7-2t and X8-2t transesophageal echocardiography transducers.
The system supports xPlane Imaging by using Philips' xMatrix transducers, meaning it can capture two cross-sectional views at the same time using a single probe pass. The system also has an automeasure function that speeds up routine 2D and Doppler cardiac measurements, and the latest S12-4 transducer compatibility extends capabilities to pediatric cardiac and neonatal head exams, the company highlighted.
The Philips Compact 5500CV shares the same architecture and user interface as the Epiq and Affiniti ultrasound platforms. It is also compatible with the company's Collaboration Live teleultrasound platform and features the Ultrasound Workspace vendor-neutral platform for echocardiography viewing, analysis, and reporting.

Low values at SMI and elastography are suggestive of benignity.
