The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved new technology add-on payments (NTAP) for artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Caption Health's AI-guided cardiac ultrasound platform.
Cases that qualify for the NTAP reimbursement will have their own ICD-10 procedure code for the software platform, which is called Caption Guidance; the reimbursement covers 461 diagnostic resource groups, including heart failure and stroke, the company said.
