GE Healthcare launches Voluson E8 ultrasound scanner

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has unveiled its new Voluson E8 ultrasound system.

The new addition to the company's Voluson ultrasound platform includes SonoVCAD (sonography-based volume computer-aided diagnosis), a new automated imaging tool designed to improve workflow by enhancing the acquisition of fetal heart images.

The proprietary technology displays all 2D planes and provides clinicians with four-chamber, left outflow tract, and right outflow tract views of the fetal heart.
