Molecular breast imaging's potential for detecting malignant tumors has been constrained by different factors, such as the limitation of conventional scintimammography with Tc-99m sestamibi in detecting smaller malignant tumors. But Mayo Clinic researchers may have overcome these drawbacks by developing a solid-state dual-head gamma camera for breast imaging.
