EDAP appoints Rewcastle as int'l medical director

EDAP TMS of Lyon, France, has appointed John Rewcastle, Ph.D., as international medical director.

Rewcastle's duties will include the company's U.S. clinical trial for Ablatherm, a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Most recently, he has worked with cryoablation vendor Endocare of Irvine, CA, in establishing cryoablation as a treatment option for localized prostate cancer.
