Toshiba gets 4D ultrasound sale

Toshiba America Medical Systems of Tustin, CA, has sold a Toshiba Aplio Artida 4D ultrasound system to the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) in Klamath Falls.

The purchase will make OIT the first undergraduate program in the U.S. to offer courses in 4D ultrasound imaging, according to Toshiba.

Artida features real-time multiplanar reformatting capabilities for physicians to assess global and regional left ventricular (LV) function, including volumetric LV ejection fraction. Arbitrary views of the heart, not available in 2D imaging, are also obtained to help with surgical planning.
