Emory to evaluate CardiArc SPECT system

Emory University Hospital in Atlanta will perform evaluations in clinical settings of the design and performance of CardiArc's SPECT system.

Emory will examine scans using both the CardiArc SPECT system and a conventional SPECT machine currently in use at the hospital. CardiArc signed a similar research and evaluation agreement with the Cleveland Clinic in June.

The Lubbock, TX-based nuclear medicine vendor's SPECT camera is designed to provide faster imaging times with less than one minute of patient setup time, radiation shielding for a technologist, and enhanced patient comfort.
