Philips Healthcare this week introduced its new ClearVue 650 ultrasound scanner at the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) annual clinical meeting in New Orleans.
The lightweight device is designed for a range of applications from obstetrics and gynecology to cardiology, abdominal, vascular, breast, musculoskeletal, urologic, and general imaging, Philips said.
Its features include spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) 4D technology to provide data on any heart abnormalities, gestation age, date of conception, and other information about a developing fetus.

Image courtesy of Philips.ClearVue 650 also uses pulsed-wave tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) technology for velocity mapping of cardiac tissue to evaluate function and wall motion, the firm said. The system also includes Auto Face Reveal, a technology that sculpts away overlaying tissue to clearly reveal the face of an unborn baby.
