Clarius signs military distribution contract

Ultrasound technology start-up Clarius Mobile Health has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with North American Rescue (NAR) to sell the C3, L7, and C7Vet Clarius wireless ultrasound scanners to medical professionals at military and federal agencies.

The scanners weigh less than a pound, are portable, and are compatible with the latest iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. They are built with a magnesium case, designed to withstand challenging environments, and are water-submersible for easy cleaning and disinfection. A rechargeable battery powers the scanners and may be exchanged when running low.

The Clarius C3 multipurpose ultrasound scanner is designed to image the abdomen and lungs and incorporates a virtual-phased array for scans of the heart. The Clarius L7 is designed for guiding procedures and imaging superficial structures, while the C7Vet scanner is for imaging military working dogs in the field, the firm said.
