Vital Images to unveil CT perfusion software at SCCT 2015

Advanced visualization firm Vital Images plans to debut its CT myocardial perfusion software at the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) annual meeting this week in Las Vegas.

The software allows physicians to visualize and analyze the heart's blood flow using data collected during cardiac CT scans. It provides semiautomatic measurements, segmentation of the myocardium, calculation of perfusion results, and detailed perfusion polar maps, according to Vital.

It can also be combined with cardiac CT angiography (CCTA) in a single exam to assess patients with acute chest pain, the company said.
